Defense Ministry launches green program for reusing waste from IDF bases

The core idea would be to take waste and reuse it as raw materials when possible. The program has reportedly already saved about 20 million NIS.

The Defense Ministry is launching an effort to make IDF bases more environmentally friendly, even with the mass increase in manpower and resource consumption due to the war.

The project, which involves cooperation between the Defense Ministry, Finance Ministry, Economy Ministry, and various plants, aims to save money by reusing raw materials and ostensible waste which would otherwise be transported to landfill sites.

The effort is projected to save the country some 20 million NIS a year, as well as avoid causing more ecological damage.
