The forces of Division 98 are continuing the "Crown of the West" operation. In an undercover raid, fighters of the Maglan and Egoz units, in cooperation with Shayetet 13 forces arrived in the Hamad neighborhood in western Khan Yunis and, together with Shin Bet coordinators, began a building-to-building foot raid on terrorist infrastructure in the "Hamad Towers" - significant high-rise buildings in the neighborhood used by Hamas.
According to the IDF spokesman, the fighters of the commando and naval units arrested many terrorists who surrendered - including the commander of a Hamas sniper squad and two others. Soldiers also located numerous weapons, including: Kalashnikov-type machine guns, grenades, vests, RPGs, explosives charges, ammunition, explosive kits, and closed-circuit diving systems intended for military use.
It was also reported that the combat teams of the 7th and Givati Brigades are surrounding terrorist infrastructure in the neighborhood and operating in other areas.
In the meantime, the IDF said that the 7th Brigade in cooperation with Unit 504 and the Shin Bet arrested about 250 terrorists, some of whom participated in the October 7 massacre, and others from Hamas' elite Nukhba force. It was also reported that the terrorists are being interrogated and providing information that is assisting the fighters.
