Qatar is expected to host a summit later in the week to mediate between Israel and Hamas, in order to advance a ceasefire in Gaza and lead to the release of the hostages, according to Reuters.
According to the report, which is based on Egyptian security sources, representatives of Israel and Hamas will arrive for additional meetings in Cairo before the Qatari summit, in order to “have talks about the timing and details of every agreement, including the subject of freeing the hostages.”
The current report comes after a discussion was held in Paris over advancing a deal to free the hostages. According to reports from yesterday (Saturday), per the deal presented by the CIA Director before Egyptian and Qatari mediators, the current deal will include the release of some 40 hostages – elderly, sick, women, including soldiers and children.
In exchange, Israel would agree to one day of truce for every hostage released, meaning six weeks. Israel would also reportedly release hundreds of prisoners, including those considered “heavies,” as well as the move and return of women and children back to the northern Gaza Strip.
