IDF operations in Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis came to a close last week after forces from the 98th Division and Shayetet 13 arrested some 200 terror suspects and found additional evidence of terrorist activity in the area.
All the while, humanitarian aid continued into the hospital, with the aid of the Commando Brigade and COGAT.
During operations, the forces found closed boxes of medicines which were unused and which had the names of Israeli hostages written on them. Many weapons were also discovered and some 200 terror suspects were arrested.
The IDF also provided an alternate generator to continue to allow the hospital to function and treat patients. COGAT officers coordinated the introduction of professionals to examine the electricity problem in the hospital.
In addition, the hospital received hundreds of packages of supply including food, water, medical equipment, and baby formula. A diesel fuel tank was also introduced with the aid of the international community to ensure the hospital’s continued operation.
A number of patients in need of urgent care were transferred to others hospitals, and the hospital was thoroughly cleaned before the forces left.
