The Saudi newspaper Elaph, which is published in London, published a report this morning (Monday) according to which Israel has information that it is possible that Yahya Sinwar, leader of Hamas in Gaza, managed to escape the Strip through the tunnels of the Philadelphi Corridor on the border between Rafah and the Sinai. According to the report, his brother Mohammed and other senior members of the organization may have also managed to escape with him.

According to the "security source" who was interviewed for the article, in recent years Israel tracked eight large tunnels that could accommodate cars and small trucks through which Hamas smuggled Iranian weapons, missiles and advanced technologies.

Also, Israel is investigating how Al Jazeera journalist Ismail Abu Amr, who was seriously injured in an Israeli assassination attempt, was able receive medical treatment in Qatar even though Egyptian authorities had no documentation of him leaving the Rafah crossing. Abu Amr documented the Hamas invasion and atrocities on October 7 and was wanted by Israel for helping and enabling Hamas.

According to the newspaper, the IDF spokesman refused to comment on the article.
