After days of waiting, Hamas has finally responded in the negative to the most recent proposal for a deal exchanging hostages for prisoners, a temporary cease fire, and increased humanitarian aid, according to Channel 12 reporter Amit Segal.
According to Segal, an Israeli source said that this response was not a "Yes, But" answer leaving room for further negotiation, but a definite rejection.
Some 136 hostages remain in Hamas captivity, at least 32 of whom are presumed to no longer be alive, according to an internal Israeli report discussed by the New York Times.
