Israel Police Clarifies: The Commissioner is not Calling You in for Interrogation

Many citizens report receiving a summons for investigation from Commissioner Shabtai, the police inform that it is fake news and that the content of the message should be ignored and the sender blocked.

In recent hours, many citizens have received personal messages stating that they are invited to a police investigation, with the signatory of the message being none other than the Police Commissioner, Chief Superintendent Kobi Shabtai.

In a statement published by the police, it is stated that the Commissioner has received several inquiries in the last few hours from public figures who received the false statement and instructed to immediately open an investigation. These are false messages (fake news) that are intended to cause panic in the public.

The police call on the public not to reply to these messages, to ignore their content and to block the profile from which the message was sent.
