The Minister of Construction and Housing and the Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Yitzhak Goldknopf, today (Sunday) inaugurated the temporary residential complex for Kibbutz Re'im evacuees on Herzl Boulevard in Tel Aviv. The project houses 130 families from the kibbutz evacuees, and another 14 youth apartments housed on the adjacent street.
The Ministry of Construction and Housing through the Amidar company and in cooperation with the Tkuma administration, rented the project from the Yovelim group and 38 private individuals who own apartments. The business forum that accompanies the kibbutz accompanied the process including donations of equipment for the kibbutz.
During the ceremony, Goldknopf distributed the house keys to each of the families, set a mezuzah at the entrance of the new building, and toured the new apartments and the kindergartens, with the aim of making sure that the kibbutz members receive the most appropriate conditions in their temporary residences.
Three day care centers and kindergartens, a community center and a treatment room for the benefit of the kibbutz members, and a parking lot for the vehicles of the temporary residents were opened in the complex that was inaugurated. As part of the activities of the Tkuma management led by Moshe Edri, the tenants will receive equipment allowances and economic fees during the entire stay.
Minister of Construction and Housing Yitzhak Goldknopf said: "I was happy to receive the residents of Kibbutz Re'im in the temporary shelter that the Ministry of Construction and Housing allocated for the families of the evacuees in Tel Aviv . The Ministry of Construction and Housing under my leadership is fully committed to the complete well-being of the residents of the Gaza Strip envelope, in the hope that they will soon be able to return to their home in the kibbutz in peace and security."
