Gabriela Leimberg, who was released from Hamas captivity after 53 days, was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak together with her daughter Mia, her brother Fernando, her sister Clara, and her brother-in-law Louis; The three women returned to Israel as part of the fifth step in the deal with the terrorist organization Hamas.

In an interview here with Network B, Leimberg told about the moment of the kidnapping: "I was kidnapped together with my family on October 7. My daughter and I were staying with my sister that weekend and we were kidnapped from her house. The kidnapping itself was a very traumatic event."

Leimberg revealed the thought that gave them the strength to survive: "We were held on in captivity by the thought, that the state, the people of Israel, and those who have to make the decisions - will come to negotiations and an agreement on release with everyone. I want to believe that these efforts continue."

Leimberg revealed that on the day she was released, she was separated from her brother and sister-in-law: "We thought we would see each other for a few more days, we didn't think they would stay there and the worry is very great. Half of me is still there, it's unbelievable that there are still hostages there."

On returning to Israel she said: "I'm fine, I understand that I need to rehabilitate and it will be a long treatment, in terms of health and mental health, and I will turn to it when Fernando and Luis return."
