A Charedi reserve soldier was attacked today (Monday) in Bnei Brak by Charedi yeshivah students from an extreme separatist Chassidut. According to the report, objects were thrown at the soldier, though he was not injured. Immediately upon receiving the reports, police forces arrived on site and investigated the circumstances of the incident.

The city of Bnei Brak stated that “in the last few minutes, a Charedi soldier serving in the IDF and resident of the city were attacked by a number of youth belonging to an extreme faction and who apparently are not residents of the city. This is a serious incident which Bnei Brak condemns and condemns with full force! Policing teams were instructed to act immediately and bring about the arrest of the subject and the start of (legal) proceedings.”

“The city stressed that they appreciate and empower the soldiers who give their lives for nation and country. There is and will be no foothold for this illegitimate behavior in our city.”

United Torah Judaism Chairman, Housing Minister Yitzhak Goldknopf, also condemned the act, in a statement released to the press: “I strongly condemn the attack on the Charedi soldier in Bnei Brak by parties from the fringes of the camp. ‘And you will love your fellow as yourself,’ was said of every Jew as such, all the more so the heroic soldiers of the IDF, who are risking their lives in this time to protect nation and country. I trust the legal authorities will quickly arrest the rioters to the fullest extent of the law.”

How crazy is it? These Chareidi kids risking their lives for the other Charaeidi's and they get cursed and mocked at. Am I missing something or is there a level of ungratefulness going on here.
