Yesterday (Tuesday), it was reported that the police sought to extend the detention of four minors who threatened a woman selling Israeli flags and saying that they were residents of Gaza and other areas over the Green Line.

The arrest of the minors occurred thanks to a report received by police dispatch of a number of youth who came to a souvenir store in Kafr Kanna who demanded the saleswoman cease to sell Israeli flags. They threatened her, saying that they were residents of Gaza and Jenin and documenting themselves in the act. Once the report was received, a rapid investigation was opened and all four suspects, minors living in Kafr Kanna, were arrested.

The Israel Police calls on all formal and informal leaders living in Arab villages and to educators and parents to work to prevent thuggish and violent conduct, and that incidents like this could cast a pall on the fabric of relations between residents.
