Three weeks after the terrible massacre in the Gaza Perimeter, signs of a return to normal life began when the Defense Ministry decided today (Sunday) to go back to supplying IDF soldiers with tomatoes grown in the Gaza Perimeter area.

The Defense Ministry Spokesperson stated that “the Defense Ministry went back today (Sunday) to supply IDF soldiers with tomatoes from settlements on the Gaza Perimeter. For a number of years now, the Defense Ministry has acquired most of the tomatoes consumed by IDF soldiers from the Gaza Perimeter. With the return of work to the agricultural farms in the settlements of the Gaza Perimeter, the Acquisition Administration in the Defense Ministry and the Bikkurei Sadeh company – the supplier of fruits and vegetables to the IDF – agreed on the immediate return of the supply from the Perimeter to IDF units. Today, the first delivery set out from the Mivtachim moshav to the IDF.”

In addition, on the instructions of Defense Ministry Director-General Maj.-Gen. (res.) Eyal Zamir, all agricultural produce supplied to the IDF, including during the war, will be from Israeli farmers.
