IDF Spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Daniel Hagari delivered a statement to the press this morning (Friday), addressing all the fronts in which Israel is at war.
Hagari revealed that army forces raided the central Gaza strip in the Shejaiya neighborhood. “During the last 24 hours, infantry and armored forces accompanied by aircraft launched a targeted raid into the Gaza Strip as part of the preparation of the area for the coming stages of the war.” He also added that the raid took place yesterday during daylight hours and ended successfully in the morning hours. The forces left the Strip and our forces suffered no casualties.
“Hamas is making use of humanitarian installations in favor of terror infrastructures”
He later stated that the IDF will reveal documentation of Hamas using humanitarian installations as terror infrastructures. “Hamas prefers at any point in time to endanger the residents of the strip to protect the terrorists,” he said.
According to him, “Hamas prefers at any point food, electricity, and medical equipment for Hamas terrorists rather than Gazan civilians who are uninvolved in the war. We will reveal these materials and bring them to the knowledge of the world and the public.”
Families of 229 Captives Have Been Informed
Hagari told of a threat which occurred in the Red Sea. “In the last few hours, an aerial threat was identified in the Red Sea area,” Hagari said. “He added that “fighter plains were scrambled towards the threat and the matter is presently being investigated. Per our understanding the missile landing that occurred in Egypt originated in this threat. Israel will work together with Egypt and the United States and tighten defense in the region from threats in the Red Sea region.”
In his statement, the Spokesperson said that so far, the families of 310 fallen soldiers have been informed, as have the families of 229 captives. This Shabbat, a silent wave will be run for Rear Command warnings for the Shabbat observant public.
