Education system status on the 18th day of the war: 67% of educational institutions have returned to in-person learning.
Minister of Education Yoav Kisch, Ministry of Education Director-General Meir Shimoni, and members of the Ministry of Education's leadership provided today (Tuesday) the situation report of the education system on the 18th day of the fighting.
The Minister of Education noted that 67% of educational institutions located in areas where physical learning was permitted (according to the security map) have returned to in-person learning. This includes approximately 13,900 educational institutions across 205 local authorities throughout the country, constituting around 79% of all local authorities.
The percentage of educational institutions that have opened for physical learning, broken down by regions:
- Central Region: 92%
- Jerusalem Region: 91%
- Haifa Region: 78%
- Tel Aviv Region: 61%
- Southern Region: 29%
The Minister of Education noted that educators are working with great dedication in schools, kindergartens, and evacuation centers, making a significant contribution to strengthening the national resilience of Israeli society and the State of Israel.
It was further reported from the situation room that out of 41 cases of suspected incitement involving educators that underwent investigation and clarification, 22 of them are currently undergoing treatment by the Ministry. The Minister emphasized that the policy is zero tolerance towards any case of incitement involving an educator.
