"I will not see you for an incredibly long time" -  Adele to take extended break from music

The Grammy-winning singer announces an "incredibly long" break from music, trading sold-out arenas for the quiet pursuit of a life she's spent years building behind the scenes.

In an emotional announcement that caught fans off guard, Adele revealed plans for an "incredibly long" hiatus from music following the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency in November. The Grammy-winning artist shared the news during her final show in Munich yesterday (Saturday) August 31st.

"I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now," Adele told the crowd, her voice wavering slightly. The 36-year-old singer explained that she's been touring and performing non-stop for nearly three years, encompassing her "30" album cycle and Las Vegas residency.

While the Munich show was intended to conclude her tour, Adele noted she still has 10 more performances in Las Vegas to make up for shows cancelled due to illness in 2022. "But after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time," she added, assuring fans she'll hold them dear during her break.

The announcement comes at a high point in Adele's career and personal life. Her latest album "30" was a critical and commercial success, featuring hits like "Easy On Me" and "I Drink Wine." Offstage, she's found new love with American sports agent Rich Paul, even hinting at marriage and future family plans.

"Once I am done with all my obligations and stuff like that and all my shows, I'm going to have a baby," Adele shared at a previous Las Vegas show, expressing hope for a daughter.

As fans process the news, they can take comfort in Adele's parting words from Munich: "I will remember this for eternity." The singer closed the show with a poignant rendition of "Someone Like You," leaving her audience with a bittersweet taste of what they'll be missing during her extended absence from the spotlight.
