Nicola Coughlan, actress from the highly popular Netflix hit series Bridgerton, has been seen wearing a ceasefire pin in recent public appearances. The pin is from the organization Artists4Ceasefire
In an interview with USA Today, Coughlan explained, "I feel like I’m a very privileged person. I’m doing my dream job and I’m getting to travel the world, but then I’m hyper-aware of what’s happening in Rafah at the moment ... My family actually lived in Jerusalem in the late '70s because my dad was part of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization. It was about brokering peace in the Middle East."
Coughlan has been warned about potential professional repercussions. "You do get told, ‘You won’t get work, you won’t do this,'" she shared.
Although Coughlan has repeatedly voiced her concerns and support for Palestinian victims, she has not made any statement regarding the Israeli victims of October 7 or the hostages.
