The police reported today (Wednesday) that they had located an explosive device in an open area near the cemetery in Ramla, following a report received at the emergency center. Police bomb disposal units and forensic officers examined the device, and it was later sent to the police forensic lab for further processing.

According to the police statement, "Ramla station officers conducted a targeted search in the city following a report received, during which they uncovered an explosive device in an open area near the city cemetery. The police bomb disposal experts examined the weapon to ensure there was no further threat to the public, and all evidence was subsequently transferred for further examination in the forensic laboratories."

The statement further noted, "The seizure of this weapon today thwarted potential future criminal activity and adds to a series of significant operational achievements aimed at ensuring the safety of the law-abiding public, in line with the Central District’s offensive strategy to combat violent crime in the Arab sector."
