On Monday, six suspects were detained in connection with the murder and an additional incident involving the placement of an explosive device in an underground parking lot in a building in Hadera in April. The investigation is ongoing.

The Central Unit (YMR) of the Northern District, along with additional forces and Border Police fighters from the Northern District, raided several locations in Pardes Hana, Kiryat, and Umm al-Fahm as part of the investigation, arresting six suspects, including those suspected of involvement in the murder and the placement of the explosive device.

On April 11, 2024, a powerful explosive device was placed under a vehicle in an underground parking lot of a high-rise building on Herbert Samuel Street in Hadera, which could have caused significant damage if activated. The device was discovered by YMR officers and neutralized by the bomb squad just before it was set to explode.

In another incident, on June 30, 2024, a murder took place in an open area in Pardes Hana, where the body of Tom Bar, z”l, was found near his car. Today, as the investigation transitioned from covert to overt, YMR forces from the Northern District, along with Border Police and district forces, raided several buildings in different locations. In Pardes Hana, police raided two locations where they arrested two suspects in their 30s for interrogation at YMR offices; their detention was extended until August 18, 2024.

In Kiryat, the police raided the homes of two suspects in their 40s and arrested them for interrogation at YMR offices; their detention was extended until August 15, 2024.

In Pardes Hana, YMR officers entered a compound associated with a crime boss and found two illegal immigrants from Jenin, as well as another suspect from Jisr az-Zarqa with material suspected to be drugs in non-personal use quantities.
