The number of Iran-backed terrorist plots targeting Jews and Israelis abroad has surged dramatically since October 7, with more than 50 attacks thwarted worldwide by the Mossad, sources have revealed to The Jerusalem Post.

This represents more than double the number of incidents prevented in the entire previous year, underscoring Tehran’s intensified focus on targeting Jewish and Israeli individuals globally.

In a speech given at Reichman University in September, Mossad Director David Barnea disclosed that the agency had disrupted 27 such terror plots in 2023 alone. The sharp increase since the war began highlights not only Iran’s heightened resolve to carry out these attacks, but also the extensive resources it has mobilized to pursue this deadly campaign.

While a few of these attempted attacks have made headlines, most remain hidden from public knowledge. The world is largely unaware of just how many lives have been saved and how many disasters have been narrowly averted.

The Mossad’s methods for thwarting these plots vary depending on the circumstances. At times, the agency works closely with foreign intelligence partners; other times, it operates independently in hostile territories or even cooperates with countries that have no formal diplomatic ties to Israel. Regardless of the approach, the scale of operations needed to counter these threats reveals the intensity of the ongoing shadow war against Iran’s global terror network.
