Argentine President Javier Milei made a surprise appearance at a major Chabad event in Buenos Aires commemorating 30 years since the Lubavitcher Rebbe's passing. At his request, Milei sat discreetly on the upper floor of the auditorium to avoid drawing attention among the thousands of attendees. The event was organized by Chabad’s chief emissary, Rabbi Tzvi Grinblat, as reported by Ynet.

Rabbi Chaim Oirachman, the Chabad emissary in Buenos Aires who facilitated President Milei’s visit, explained that Milei had a personal desire to attend the event. Oirachman highlighted that Milei preferred the focus of the event to be on the greatness and teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Milei chose to sit quietly, absorbing Torah teachings and melodies.

Milei’s connection to the Chabad movement is deep-rooted, having visited the Lubavitcher Rebbe's grave multiple times in recent years. In a previous statement to the Chabad newsletter, Milei expressed his admiration for the Rebbe's legacy and recounted seeking the Rebbe's blessing, which he believed played a role in his election as president of Argentina.
