A violent confrontation developed yesterday (Sunday) outside a synagogue in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood of Los Angeles between pro-Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli supporters, as reported by Yisrael Hayom.
The demonstrations by the two sides, which quickly developed into violence between them, included pushing and burning of flags, with one of the Palestinians involved being arrested after he vandalized the Israeli flag, as a local police spokesman pointed out.
The mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, spoke out with regard to the demonstrations: "The violence in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood was abhorrent, and blocking access to a place of worship is unacceptable. Los Angeles will not be a bastion of anti-Semitism and violence."
