Thailand Floods, Israeli Tourists
Israeli tourists escape Thailand floods in midnight rescue: "They woke us with shouts!"
Chaos as hotel manager saves Israelis from rising waters in Pai Town.

In the picturesque town of Pai in northern Thailand, a peaceful evening turned into a nightmare for dozens of Israeli tourists as heavy rains transformed the area into a flood zone. Hotels and bungalows were quickly submerged under rising waters.
Among the affected tourists was Yotam, who described the ordeal to Ynet: "It started in the middle of the night. The manager woke us with urgent shouts - the porch was already flooded. We immediately contacted Clal Insurance's emergency center, and they dispatched a rescue team right away. We're now safe in a hostel, still in the Pai district, recovering but relieved."
As floodwaters from the overflowing river rose, the Israeli tourists sought refuge on rooftops, where they were eventually rescued with ladders, ropes, boats, and off-road vehicles.
Dror Zesler, deputy CEO and head of Claims Division at Clal Insurance and Finance, explained, "Once we learned of the situation, we activated our rescue team immediately to ensure the swift and safe evacuation of our insured clients."
