The National Security Council (NSC) on Wednesday released an update titled "Terrorism Threats Against Israelis Abroad Ahead of the 2024 Jewish High Holidays," warning of a sharp increase in the motivation of terrorist groups to target Israeli and Jewish individuals worldwide since October 2023, the start of the Swords of Iron War.

The report states that since the conflict began, various terrorist organizations have made declarations, issued threats, and encouraged attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets. It highlights that Iran and Hezbollah continue to make direct threats against Israelis, with Iranian and Hezbollah leaders blaming Israel for the deaths of key figures within their alliance, known as the "Axis of Evil."

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and Hezbollah leadership have repeatedly threatened severe retaliation against Israel, warning of a "new level" of consequences.

Additionally, the report points to the Hamas terrorist organization's ongoing efforts to target Jews abroad and recent threats by ISIS to carry out more attacks in Europe, with Jewish targets among their potential objectives. The NSC also emphasized the rise in antisemitic violence and incidents globally, particularly after the October 7 massacre.

The update serves as a critical reminder of the heightened risks facing Israelis and Jewish communities during the High Holidays.
