Former U.S. President and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump released a statement on Sunday following the tragic murder of U.S. citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin and five other hostages held by Hamas.

In his statement, Trump directly blamed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, his opponents in the upcoming November election, for the deaths of the hostages.

"We grieve the senseless death of the Israeli hostages, including a wonderful American citizen, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who was murdered by Hamas due to a complete lack of American strength and leadership," Trump said. "Make no mistake—this happened because Comrade Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe Biden are poor leaders.

Americans are being slaughtered overseas while Kamala is busy disparaging and fabricating lies about Gold Star families, and Biden is napping on the beach on his 16th consecutive day of vacation. They have blood on their hands! This is the sad reality of the so-called 'leadership' that Kamala and Biden represent—a leadership that allows terrorists to take American lives because they are more focused on weaponizing the Department of Justice against their political opponent," Trump continued.

"Just like the debacle of the Afghanistan withdrawal that claimed 13 American lives, Kamala and Biden's judgment has not only put lives at risk but is directly responsible for unnecessary deaths that should have never happened," Trump concluded.
