Israel's Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum is set to display a unique collection of artworks inspired by Disney characters, created by Holocaust survivors and victims.

The collection includes:

• A "Snow White" drawing by Henri Kichka, made in March 1941 at age 15, after losing his family.

• A Mickey Mouse birthday card created by Suzanne Schick while hiding in Yugoslavia.

• A Pinocchio-decorated jar by Lilly Kasticher, buried with personal items before her deportation to Auschwitz.

These pieces illustrate how Disney characters provided emotional support for Jewish children during Nazi occupation.

The artworks will be housed in Yad Vashem's new Shaffer building, a 63,300-square-foot facility. This center will also store:

• 227 million pages of Holocaust-related documentation

• Thousands of historical objects and artworks

• Hundreds of thousands of photographs and survivor testimonies

Yad Vashem Art Director Moreh-Rosenberg highlighted the significance of these items, noting how they were preserved and passed down through generations before being entrusted to the museum.
