Seven people have been arrested by Greece's anti-terrorism police for arson attacks targeting an Israeli-owned hotel and a synagogue in central Athens this year, police announced Thursday.

Among those arrested were a 25-year-old Greek woman, two Iranians aged 46 and 36, and a 44-year-old Afghan, who were involved in a May 15 attack with an incendiary bomb on a building housing an Israeli-owned hotel and restaurant. They face charges of arson with potential risk to human life and damage to foreign property in a racially motivated act, according to Ynet.

On June 18, a 44-year-old Greek man and a 26-year-old Afghan threw flammable materials at a synagogue, causing a fire. A 30-year-old Iranian was also arrested for his involvement. They are charged with arson, gun possession, and robbery. Police seized mobile phones and other evidence from a residence in Athens and a prison.
