Rebbetzin Miriam Hager, wife of Vizhnitz Monsey Rebbe, passes away at 73
The Rebbetzin had battled serious illness for 40 years. May her memory be blessed.

Rebetzin Miriam Hager, wife of the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Monsey, passed away Tuesday at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan after years of illness. She was 73.
Rebetzin Hager was the daughter of Rabbi Elazar Meisels, former Rabbi of Ujhel and Chicago, and granddaughter of the Deesh Rebbe. She married the current Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Monsey in 1969 and stood by his side throughout his rabbinical career.
She is survived by five sons, all prominent rabbis in the Hasidic community, and two sons-in-law. Her children include Rabbi Yaakov Yosef Hager, Rabbi David Dov Hager, Rabbi Chaim Meir Hager, Rabbi Moshe Hager, and Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager, each married into distinguished Hasidic dynasties.
The Rebbetzin showed remarkable devotion despite her illness, regularly attending synagogue services. In recent years, her son Rabbi Chaim Meir moved nearby to help care for her. Her brothers include Rabbi Dov Berish Meisels, the Satmar Dayan of Borough Park, and Rabbi Yechezkel Meisels of Williamsburg.
As reported by CBN, her funeral will start at 12:00pm (Wednesday) at the Viznitzer Beis HaMedrash, at 25 Phyllis Terrace in Monsey, and continue at the Viznitzer Beis Hachaim on Route 306.
