BEIT SHEMESH: Child's Leg Crushed by Bus Moments After Stepping Off
Police have launched an investigation into how the driver failed to notice the child had not cleared the vehicle's path.

A 4-year-old boy was run over by a bus he had just exited in Beit Shemesh's Orthodox neighborhood Tuesday afternoon. The horrific accident occurred around 1:10 PM on Dover Shalom Street.
Witnesses reported the child had just stepped off the bus when it moved forward, crushing his lower body. Emergency responders found him conscious but bleeding heavily on the road.
"We arrived to find the toddler with severe injuries to his lower body," said MDA paramedic Naji Ben Simon. "We immediately began life-saving treatment to stop the bleeding before rushing him to hospital."
United Hatzalah medics Shimi Segal and Shmuel Bachor, who were first on scene, described it as "a severe accident involving the same bus the child had just exited."
The child remains in serious but stable condition after being rushed to intensive care in an ambulance.
